Lingering monsoon moisture will bring fairly isolated convection to portions of the state through this week, with temperatures heating back up as high pressure strengthens across the area. Unfortunately, at this time, this ridge will not be a great location conducive to tap into deeper tropical moisture from Mexico, so our relatively quiet monsoon season will continue. The flow may turn more southerly later in the week with increasing moisture across the region, especially over western portions of the state, which have also been unseasonably dry. Temperatures are another big story with excessive heat expected to return later in the week. There will be some day-to-day differences in convective potential, which may enhance thunderstorm chances from any outflow boundaries that develop. Otherwise, expect more of the same, pretty status quo weather for now.
